The Aqua is a compact 5 door hatchback similar to the popular Toyota Yaris, and is powered by a 1500cc petrol VVT-i engine coupled to a 45kW electric motor with 0.9kWh Nickel-Metal Hydride battery. This hybrid combination delivers a very economical 3.9L/100km fuel rating. The Aqua drives from start using electricity only up to 15kph, and then the petrol engine kicks in, making it ideal for around town driving. On the open road the electric motor assists the petrol engine to deliver more power.
