Cromwell-based rally star Hayden Paddon has launched a behind-the-scenes documentary series about his New Zealand rally team, Paddon Rallysport.
The four-part series, part one of which was launched earlier this month, uses the same name, Driven, as Paddon’s autobiography which is being published by Penguin Random House later this year.
The two projects complement each other but the documentary has a different storyline to the book. While the autobiography promises a candid look at Paddon’s professional and personal life from childhood, the documentary series covers twelve months of action with the Kiwi rally team, showing the highs, lows and challenges of running it.
‘‘We have big ambitions with Paddon Rallysport and this year is the building block to that. The Driven documentary series will allow others to share this journey with us,’’ Paddon said.
Young Kiwi film-maker Jack Smith, of MA Media in Christchurch, is creating the video production.
Driven, part one, is available on YouTube and on ThreeNow, the online on-demand TV portal of TV3.
Driven, part two, is scheduled for release in late August.
