Invercargill’s Burt Munro Challenge has kicked off, with the popular hill climb on the Bluff.
Hundreds of people lined Flagstaff Rd this morning where motorcycles tried to clock the best time possible up the 1.4km track.
Bikes from 1946 right through to the modern era raced up the hill that ordinarily takes tourists to the Bluff viewpoint.
Racers from as far as the United States were taking part in the annual event, but the majority were from all corners of New Zealand.
Organisers closed the road to general traffic.
Ducatti, Triumph, Suzuki, Honda, Norton and more were all to be seen. Not only were two-wheelers going up the hill, quad bikes were also taking part.
